Slightly depressed contemplating the NYS Standards. Every class, I'm supposed to write the Standards on the board, not for the students' benefit, but for the benefit of any administrator who happens to wander through the classroom. One of my coop teachers, whom I like very much, is always telling me, "Write this on the board. They love stuff like this." I have the wrong attitude, maybe b/c I don't plan to teach in city schools: I don't care if they see me Not Following Protocol. The sad thing is, I like teaching in a city school. I like the diversity; I like the other teachers, who are way more pro-student than the ones I saw on the Gisland, and some of whom are truly impressive--my other cooperating teacher is wonderful; I like the students. I do not like writing the NYS standards on the blackboard every day. But anyway.

Trouble with Primera and her Hebrew school. I am never, ever bored.
