Was at a Board of Ed meeting until 11ish last night; it was still going strong when I left. One of my friends on the Board called me and nicely let me know I didn't need to get my panties in a twist except for collaborative--excuse me, integrated co-teaching--in one grade that happened to have an unusually large number of kids. I'll be following up. Meanwhile an administrator keeps telling me I'm too negative and need to talk about all the positive things the district is doing. I was with two friends at this meeting and we all said a version of the same thing, namely, do something positive and we'll talk about it. I don't think that made her too happy.

Comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable, as they say. Plus, I'm not getting paid for this shit, nor am I there to be anyone's cheerleader. I must be doing someting right, b/c one group of people thinks I'm too safe and play the game too much whereas admin thinks I'm too adversarial.
