Tired. Ti-red.
And anxious. Hypervigilant. Such a familiar feeling to me: staring at the screen wide-eyed like a lemur.
The girl child, she is cantankerous lately. As always, it's normal tween behavior dialed waaaaay up. On the other hand, it makes the drama at school easier to take. Sometimes. You think that's acting out behavior? Hah!
I got to throw my first student out the other day. I am going to hell anyway for various other sins, so I'll admit here that I was overwhelmed with relief not to have to deal with that @#$% for the rest of the period. It was a whole different class once I'd thrown him out, which irritates me in general, that that's how I got my street cred. Maybe I should have peed all over the classroom and marked my turf the first day.
I'm still trying to figure out a way to deal with Hostile Negative Girl. Her nice but ineffectual-sounding mom said that "positive attention works," but the kid rarely does anything positive, so I don't have much to work with.
