I still love "MacArthur Park." Someone left that cake out in the rain. Seriously, I've seen worse metaphors for disappointment in love.

I've always thought that song was unfairly maligned. But then, whatever song is popular when you're in seventh grade is sacrosanct!

True. I used to get chills from "Seasons in the Sun," which IMO is a much more overtly horrendous song. And the Minnie Ripperton song "Loving You" still reminds me of the smell of varnish from my eighth grade woodshop class.
