Kids off from camp this week; next week they try out sleepaway. Primera is spending too much time with her electronic friends (DS and Tamagotchi) and wrapping her mind around middle school. We took a tour to ease some anxiety, which seemed to help: she was able to guide us back and enjoyed being able to point things out ("Point out more stuff so I can show you!"). She's also reading The Smart Girl's Guide to Middle School and seems most concerned re the combination lock. Secundo is full of questions (as always), worried a bit too much about everything (bees, crabs, what happens if his cut gets infected, etc. Sometimes I start thinking re the scene in Annie Hall: "The universe keeps expanding!" and the kid's mother starts yelling, "Why is that your problem?").
I'm still unemployed so should be able to devote lots of time to my volunteer work, hahahaha.
Also: things I have opinions about. I love the title Snakes on a Plane as much as the next person, but it occurs to me that movie titles just aren't as clever as they used to be. Bringing Up Baby? Even Three Stooges movies like A Pain in the Pullman? Now you have these brainless names like Click. Surely a pun could have been made on being remote or about losing control. But no, go for a nice noun. The one that annoys me the most, for some reason, is Akeelah and the Bee. Just a completely boring, descriptive title.
