An IVF pioneer, as the Times calls her. I'm sure some pundit or ironist will take note of the fact that Jones helped us enter the brave new world of scientific assistance in creating and ending life, and that she died as we fiercely debate the Terri Schiavo case, and it was Easter Sunday, yadda yadda, headshot of Arthur Caplan debating bioethics. Meanwhile, there have been 114,000 babies born via IVF in this country.
114,000.
