So just in case I thought I was being unfair to Lisa Belkin for writing narcissistic articles about her college dormmates and deciding they represent the Zeitgeist, I was talking to a friend of mine who grew up in Merrick with Lisa Belkin, and she tells me that the family the story was about was someone Belkin knew. I think the father was her kindergarten teacher's son.
