I am having a craptastic day, but one bright spot: such a deal on shoes at Banana Republic. For real: shoes reduced from $128 to $20. I actually said, "Get out of here!" when the cashier told me my total. Also, they are really, really cute, comfortable, and practical.
The pair I got are sort of oxblood colored.
The rest of my day has sucked, but the shoes, they are cute.

Favorite teaching moment today:
Student (peering out window): Can I go out the window onto the roof and get that ball?
I forget what I said, though it included the words "Get in your seat NOW." Teenagers are such hamsters.
My other fave moment from last week: a kid who had a behavior plan was pretty badly behaved the whole day (I had a third grade class for the day). At the end of the day he said, "No smiley faces?" I said no, he hadn't behaved in the morning or afternoon. He glared at me and said, "I'm not leaving until I get a smiley face." I told him he'd be there kind of a long time. Then I leaned over and suggested he get his coat and backpack.
