Things in Bloom
My parents had had a beautiful garden. Before we sold the house, I dug up a bunch of peony roots and irises and, one evening at dusk, a lilac bush, which really didn't want to leave its sunny home. This morning I noticed that the lilac bush survived the winter and seems to be covered in future blooms. It's nothing much, but it made me happy. My father, who loved gardening, would be pleased.

That's sweet!
I love lilacs - they make me think of my mom too. I have a little lilac tree I planted a few years ago but we don't get enough sun - it had about three flowers last year.
This one is right in front and it seems to be covered with potential blooms: it was always pretty prolific at my dad's house. I love lilacs also, and I suppose the bush's location qualifies as a dooryard, since it's right next to our front door.
Can't wait till the flowers open, though I know we have at least several weeks. Did I mention the peonies are up too?
