Just b/c I love this picture of Sacha Baron Cohen/Borat

Also: useless trivia that most people in autism community would know: he is the cousin of Simon Baron-Cohen, he of the extra hyphen and research on Theory of Mind. As one of my online friends pointed out, it's ironic/interesting that Ali G's shtick depends on exploiting theory of mind (i.e., he's in on the joke, as are we, but his interviews don't know that it's a put-on). The Borat shtick takes it a bit farther: if we're Kazakhstani, we're outside of the joke, and our attempts to reject the joke reinforce it.

Of course, as a smart Jewish guy playing an anti-Semitic maroon, that's its own kind of TOM vertigo, no? The entire joke depends, to some extent, on playing someone who is unknowingly manipulated/humiliated by that which he hates, but whose mind he can't possibly know or see--it's a mind that can't exist if the character truly exists.
