Things I Never Knew About Truants

The ones I've seen are not usually terrible students. It's May and I'm just getting to know these two girls--they've essentially only been back since break--they'd been abstractions on the attendance sheet before that. They're usually all the way there and participating when they show up, but they don't usually show up. Then there's one who's incredibly high-maintenance when she does show: drove me nuts Tuesday asking me a million questions re how to fix her essay, only to take off the rest of the week, not turning the damn thing in.
