Shopping and...
Went to Century the other day after a beloved sweater met an untimely end in the dryer. For laughs, I went to the European Designers section, over to the rack labeled Large. Its real name should be the WTF rack: pieces of conceptual art, giant Lycra stretchy T-tops with silkscreens of famous people and random words written in rhinestones across the front, itchy-looking sweaters, some with discreet holes from being tried on every back in Nassau County, parts of ensembles that might work as a whole but are sad, lonely individual pieces, etc. Sometimes I am tempted to buy the last-mentioned, b/c they're not exactly ugly or bad, just incomplete. And then I come home and have, for example, a body-hugging blue linen shirt with zippers at the neck. Although this past visit I was able to score some cashmere. Camel-colored. Mmmmm.
