Primera made up a joke yesterday: "What's a dog's favorite state?" "Barkansas!" She's been reading joke books lately. I was rather proud of it. Not to be outdone, Secundo came up with one: "Where do you leave a dog?" "The barking lot!" And then there were a whole bunch of jokes that descended from puns into Dadaist non sequiturs that had the syllable "bark" in them.

She's also drawing Manga lately, and she's gotten pretty good at it. I used to love Speed Racer, I remind myself, and look how well I turned out.

Neuro we took Secundo to thinks anxiety, not Tourette's. We are exploring that and PANDAS. I've had a lovely chat with a nice woman at the National Institutes of Health. She thought the huge number of streps last year was suspicious, but didn't seem to think the rest of his behavior sounded like it added up to PANDAS, though she didn't say so directly. Neuro was a brusque Israeli man who didn't let the spousal unit get his questions in (spousal unit cuts right to the chase and worries re brain tumors; I prefer more esoteric neurological problems). He did suggest a revised version of the Conners scale. Yes, there's some ADHD stuff there, tho it's not getting in the way, so I don't really care. I'll have to look into this guy more and see if he suffers from the hammer/nail syndrome.
