So the NYS Board of Regents has voted to phase out the low-pass option for the Regents exams that count toward the Regents diploma (old dispensation: you could still get a local diploma if you scored b/w 55 and 65). Kids w/IEP's can still take the RCT (Regents Competency Test, an easier exam), but gen ed kids, or the unclassified kids w/LDs, are going to run into problems. Or not, b/c they'll just make the curve that much more generous. Well and truly ridiculous.

In other upbeat Board of Regents news, seems a former member has been brought up on charges of possessing child pornography.
