Upsetting article on bright kid living in shelters, identifying with Pip from Great Expectations, getting preyed on by older men. I'm wondering why the school isn't more involved in making sure her home situation is stable--why was she riding the subway for two days, for God's sake?--but maybe the school is overwhelmed too.
