So today I was over at the Body and Soul website reading the comments, which I was enjoying because I agreed with them. Though I have to admit, seeing the heading "Revolt of the PTA Ladies" was pissing me off. My lone reader, you'd be surprised what goes on in PTA's. It is not unlike the Mafia with estrogen. And actual things do get accomplished: heads roll, people get fired, policy is made. The only difference between it and La Cosa Nostra is that no money changes hands. There is even an unwritten code which you shouldn't violate. PTA's nowadays are filled, by the way, with retired career women whose sometimes considerable unused bandwidth is dedicated to the curriculum committee. As I said, you'd be surprised.
